Dog Beach Rules

In general, dogs must be under voice control. That means your dog should come when called and stay close to you in a relatively safe area. Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the off-leash area of the beach.

All dogs – regardless of size – are required to wear a collar with tags indicating that they have received an up-to-date rabies vaccine. Dogs in heat should not be brought to a dog park along with puppies under 4 months old.

You must always clean up after your dog and you are expected to bring your own poop bags with you to the beach.

What should I bring with me to the dog beach?

A water bowl for your dog, towels for yourself and your pet, sunscreen, poop bags, a leash, and of course – your dog!

What should I do if my dog has never been to a beach before?

Take it slow – you don’t want your dog to get overwhelmed. Start out by hanging out on the sand and playing with toys. If your dog seems comfortable, take them into the water up to their knees. Gradually increase the depth of the water. If they seem nervous, take things even slower – you don’t want them to feel afraid of the water!
