In a place as sparsely populated and remote as Alaska, most people’s favorite thing to do is probably going camping or fishing. As for most Alaskans, that includes their dogs too. There are many beaches that can be found in most of Alaska’s populated cities, but not all of them are dog-friendly. Dog Beach Rules
There are many rules and guidelines when it comes to taking your four legged best friend to a dog beach. The rules vary depending on the time of year and day, and most rules are instituted by the city, but typically rules include:
- Dogs must be kept on a leash when not at the beach (leash length should be no longer than 6ft)
- Dog owners must clean up after their pets (bring extra bags)
- No female dogs in heat allowed
- No more than three dogs per person on leash permitted at the beach
- No children under 13 allowed without an adult over 18 years old present
